Beth Lessin Theater was established in 1980 in Weitzman Street in Tel-Aviv. In 2003 the
theater moved to its new location in Dizengoff
Street, in a building that was used to be the old
building of The Cameri Theater.
Over the years the place performed modern
European and American plays, and also original Israeli plays.
Since 1993, when
the managers of the theater were replaced, the theater has started to emphasize
its work on original Israeli plays, many of them dealing with
political and social Israeli issues.
Nowadays Beth Lessin Theater performs more
then a thousand plays and shows every year, and the place is considered as one of
the leading theaters in Israel.
