London Garden (London Square) |

London Garden (or London Square) is placed near Bugrashov Beach, in the center of Tel-Aviv in the west edge of Bugrashov Street.
London square was established in 1942, and it was named after London, the capital city of England as a gesture to the ability of the residents of London city not to be defeated by Germany in the 2nd World War, when Germany bombed London city.
In the center of London Square you can find a monument of a ship, in memory of the illegal immigration to Israel towards the end of the British Mandate period, and the struggle against the British governments. Some people see it as a contradiction to admire the British people and at the same time to admire the struggle against the British government.
On the monument you can see stories and pictures of the history of the illegal immigration. You can also find in the square six boards with the names of the immigrants ships.
Under the garden there is a parking lot. The size of the beautiful garden is 8 dunams, and there are also many coffee shops and restaurants in the region.
